Special Education Substitute Teacher

Responsibilities;

  • Instruction: Implement provided lesson plans in a whole group or small group setting with the ability to differentiate and adapt materials to student needs.
  • Communication: Work closely with the general education teacher and other service providers to ensure students with IEPs are obtaining the support they need.
  • Behavior Management: Ensure a positive learning environment by maintaining classroom routines and procedures and implementing student behavior intervention plans (BIPs) with fidelity.
  • Record Keeping: Provide detailed notes regarding students' progress toward the lesson's learning objectives and behavioral goals.

Requirements;

  • Qualification: Valid Emergency 30-day Substitute Permit is required. Education Specialist Credential is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working closely with children with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) is required. Experience working in a school setting is preferred.
  • Skills: Must possess strong communication, collaboration, organization and flexibility skills.
  • Enthusiasm: Passion for Special Education and is driven to support students in meeting their IEP goals.
