Responsibilities;

  • Lesson Creation: Design and deliver engaging English Language Arts lessons aligned with curriculum standards, focusing on reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and vocabulary development.
  • Classroom Management: Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth, critical thinking, and a love for literature and writing.
  • Progress Monitoring: Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments; provide meaningful feedback and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Community Building: Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school staff to support student achievement and contribute to a cohesive educational team.

Requirements;

  • Certification: Valid, relevant California Teaching Credential or Intern Credential through a program recognized by the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing, including authorization for instructing English Language Learners.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with children grades K-12 required. Previous experience teaching English preferred.
  • Content Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge in English Language Arts, including literature analysis, writing instruction, grammar, vocabulary development, and reading strategies appropriate for middle school learners.
  • Enthusiasm: Passionate about student achievement with a strong commitment to helping students thrive in their own academic journeys.
